Bacon Cheese Jalapeno Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 12-14 slices of quality cooked, crumbled bacon such as applewood smoked
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 oz cream cheese at room temperature
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- 2 diced jalapeños seeds removed
- 2 thinly sliced scallions (optional)
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Get a 9 x 5 or 9 x 6 loaf pan, and grease it.
Cook the bacon. When done, remove the pan, place it on a paper towel to remove the excess grease, and crumble the bacon when cool.
In a small bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together.
In a larger bowl, mix bacon, cream cheese, shredded cheese(s), jalapeños, and scallions.
If you like it hotter, you can adjust the number of jalapeños, and add more, or you can leave the bacon and cheese to dominate.
Add the flour mixture, the egg, melted butter, and milk.
Add the batter to the greased loaf pan, and bake for about 50 minutes.
Your family will fall in love with it, so bake at least two bacon cheese jalapeno loaves of bread!
You can even freeze it, and take out a slice whenever you want. Wrap the slices in foil and place them in a freezer bag. You’ll just need to heat them in the oven later.
Enjoy!
