The Internet has become our main source of information, so we tend to take everything we read for granted.
Yet, while we can often find valuable things, there are certain news and pieces of advice that would be better to be left on the table, like the one that recommends putting wasp nest in the vagi*a!
No matter how bizarre it sounds, there are actually women who practice this in order to rejuvenate and tighten their vagi*a.
Indeed, on Etsy, a craft website, despite other items useful in your household, you can buy oak galls, a medicinal paste of bark and wasp excreta that you can put inside your vagi*a!
As explained by one of the Etsy sellers, oak galls, also known as oak apples, come from oak trees indigenous to Asia Minor and Persia.
They are produced when the bark or leaves of the oak tree Quercus infectoria are penetrated by the female gallwasp, Cynips Gallae-tinctoriae, who lays its eggs inside.
The penetration leads to a spontaneous chemical reaction that stimulates the bark or leaves to produce a roundish hard ball called an oak gall.
It has been reported that they are later ground up, and then placed inside the vagi*a to “restore the uterine wall after childbirth, heal an episiotomy cut and also clean out the vagi*a.”
Even though practitioners of natural medicine have used oak galls for various health issues, they have never used them in this way.
However, the potential adverse effects of this treatment can be terrible, as oak galls contain astringents that will irritate or dry out the vagi*a, leading to friction during intercourse and infections.
This is why doctors warn about the possible dangers of this practice before it is further scientifically investigated.
Online retailers who sell this product claim that women may experience a stinging sensation when applying the powder.
Yet, according to Dr. Jen Gunter, if something burns when you apply it to the vagi*a it is generally bad for it. Before you try anything of this kind, you should consult your gynecologist or doctor to prevent any complications.
This gynecologist has warned about the use of various herbal remedies for the vagi*a a lot of times. She spoke put about the womb detox trend, which was said to help women with endometriosis, ovarian cysts, thrush, and fibroids.
Moreover, bags of perfumed herbs, called Herbal Womb Detox Pearls, were being promoted as a health boost and women were advised to insert three of the balls into the vagi*a for 72 hours.
Yet, Dr.Gunter explained that by leaving a product which is not designed for prolonged vagi*al use in the vagi*a, you increase the risk of toxic shock syndrome.
